In our commitment to help make disciples at First United Methodist Church of Canton, we strive to offer a variety of opportunities for each individual to grow in faith and knowledge of the Bible and Jesus Christ. We invite you to come and grow with us as we meditate on God's word through various Sunday School Classes and studies

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Classes meet each Sunday at 10 a.m.

ASBURY CLASS - Room 116

The adults in this class also have a common ministry as parents who are striving to raise up children who love and serve the Lord. As Francis Asbury tirelessly spread the Gospel message in America so long ago, this class seeks to better understand the Bible so that they can spread it's message, as well. This class is balancing a study of the early Christian church with topical studies that will help them in life, in the family and in the workplace.

DISCIPLES CLASS - Room 119

A class consisting of mature adults seeking strength and direction by studying the Word. "The Bible is our text and Christ is our leader." This class seeks to follow Christ and celebrates the love and grace that is found in Him through study and great fellowship. They gather faithfully on Sunday mornings in their class and quite often for fellowship outside their classtime as well.

FOLLOWERS CLASS - Room 121

This is really a special class for adults who live with unique challenges in their lives. First United Methodist Churst of Canton is proud of the ministry to mentally handicapped adults and our loving leadership for this class shares the Gospel message in a way that touches the life of each special person.

JOURNEYS CLASS - Room 106

This is a group of 20's and 30's that search and seek to find God's movement in the lives that they live every day. Many of them are married and have pre-school and elementary age children, so parenting and relationships are discussed often in this class. They also get together at various times of the year for fellowship and fun.

DIALOGUES CLASS - Room 126

This is a group connected with the music ministry of Canton FUMC that meets before the choir gathers for a lesson and discussion time

GATHERERS CLASS - Room 109

In his travels, Jesus gathered people together from all ages and stages of life and helped them all to learn about him, his Father, and the love and grace that is available for all. The Gatherer's Class certainly follws in this tradition. This diverse class shares leadership as they study the quarterly adult cirriculum and learn more about the Bible.

WESLEY CLASS - Room 117

As John Wesley was the founder of Methodism, in many ways the great people of this class have laid the foundation for the ministry of First United Methodist Church of Canton. As a matrue and experienced community of believers, this class continues to increase their faith through fellowship, prayer and Bible study. Each Sunday, the Wesley Class is lead through a lesson in the quarterly adult cirriculum.
